THE SIXT SENSES INFORMATION IMPRESSION CONTACT US HOME

It’s certainly the most convenient dive because you can dive directly from the resort’s wharf and follow the coral reef which protects the island. It’s a reef which slopes slowly until circa 40 metres in depth, and it is never affected by strong currents, so it’s a lovely dive which everyone can do.
By following the wall, whether you look to your left or to your right, you will immediately be struck by the formations of coral in impressive sizes and shapes, as well as gorgonians, soft corals and sponges with brightly coloured crinoids. The scene is completed by a large school of jack fish which has made its home under the wharf.

In the morning they appear and form an incredible vortex; a joy for divers, underwater photographers and snorkellers. The presence of a large barracuda, which we have called Ettore, snappers, groupers, morays and an infinite number of snappers and sea pearches are an unforgettable sight when they are fed the remains of cleaned up fish just before sunset. You can also admire ghost pipe fish, leaf fish and shrimps, accompanied by guides.
At sunset seeing the mandarin fish mating is a sight absolutely not to be missed, as well as small and brightly coloured fish that only live in a particular kind of coral and come out of hiding just before sunset to group together.

During the dive it’s possible to encounter eagle rays, black tip sharks, shoals of longtoms, cuttlefish, barracudas, mobulas, bumped head parrot fish and schools of multi-coloured fusilier fish. Night-time dives are also very much appreciated because you can see a huge number of crabs and shrimps of all sizes, basket stars, pencil urchins, parrot fish in protective mucous cocoons, as well as all those forms of marine life which are impossible to see during the day.

For snorkellers the house reef is a real paradise.
