It’s a large reef which takes its name from the presence of a small lighthouse which warns ships of the barrier reef.
It’s one of the best locations for dives and also to see pelagic fish. When there is a current, seeing sharks, mantas, eagle rays, mobulas and tunas is a certainty.
The wall descends to a depth of about 800 metres and it’s decorated by cracks which are full of marine life, such as sea whips, gorgonians, soft corals and the biggest sponges ever seen.
It’s possible to encounter ghost pipe fish, pygmy sea horses, as well as various nudibranches. The top of the reef is also very beautiful for those who love snorkelling. |
