This is a marvellous ridge which combines two types of reef which are much loved by photographers because of the variety and beauty of the corals and the life which is all around them. Right from the start you will see the gorgonians, soft corals and sponges mixed with large number of multi-coloured barrier reef fish. At a depth of circa 28 metres you will find a pinnacle covered in large soft corals and sponges which rise up to 13 metres; by walking right round it you will discover nudibranches, shrimps, ghost pipe fish, hawkfish, and sometimes frog fish and leaf fish.
We continue by threading through a terrace of unspoilt coral mixed with sponges full of crinoids, gorgonians, black coral and all kinds of hard and soft coral. Here it’s possible to encounter turtles, eagle rays, tunas and red snappers.
The dive ends a few metres from the main reef with an explosion of life and colour which is a rare sight anywhere in the world. |
