 Precisely because Walea is such a complete ecosystem, that includes sea, beaches, hills and forest, even trying to explain its reality through the five senses, you do not capture the real magic of Walea but maybe just reconstruct it, once the different types of feelings it provokes are talked about as a whole.
It is impossible to not emphasise how everything, but just everything on this island and its surroundings, is in harmony and laid out according to rules which, even if they are governed by fate, have their own design of beauty and authenticity that have made even a sceptic whisper the word “magic”.
Whether you believe in inexplicable events or not, it remains true that the locals had chosen this point to celebrate their animist rituals, because at times, the beauty in itself warrants celebration, for the pure joy of delighting in it, without expecting anything in return.
At Walea there are certainly not extraordinary “events”, but every dawn, every sunset and every smile is a daily celebration of the beauty that the creator wanted for this remote corner of the planet.
Therefore, even the people that have chosen to live here and to welcome to this little paradise travellers from everywhere, have decided to do so reducing “the human impact” as much as possible. Everything has thus been dreamed up, thought over and built with the utmost respect for and care to protect this large natural area.
Perhaps this is what is to be understood by great magic: living as far as possible surrounded by nature and what nature produces, but in safety and peace to reconcile our body and spirit with our primordial dimension as a new starting point in order to return to daily life a little freer and happier than before.
