It’s an extremely long sandbank divided into two parts by a sand gully, with a depth of 18 metres at its head. It’s located between Walea point and Gegolan. When the currents are favourable you will be fascinated by the variety and number of fish. By going to a depth of circa 30 metres you can follow a reef wall full of coloured soft coral and gorgonians, while out of the blue water sharks, tunas, mantas, eagle rays, huge jack fish and barracudas arrive.
By looking at the bottom you will see white and black tip sharks mixing with large schools of fusilier fish and surgeon fish with a flat tail. Thus ends your dive into the blue waters where any kind of encounter is possible.
When there is a moderate current a dive at the head of the sandbank is also extremely pleasant. It will allow you to admire enormous table corals, as well as staghorn coral prairies and stacks of hemispherical hard corals covered by soft corals in different colours. It is possible that you will see garden eels, crocodile fish and a species of pygmy seahorse which has not yet been classified.
